PRESSURE COOKER RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • Ani™ Spaghetti and Meatballs Spice Pack

  • 1 lb ground beef (85–15)

  • 1 lb ground pork

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 can tomato sauce, 16 oz

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes, 28 oz

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1 lb dried spaghetti

DIRECTIONS

  1. Separate out 2 1/2 tbsp of the Ani™ Spaghetti and Meatballs Spice Pack, and set aside in a small bowl. Keep the rest of the spices in the packet.

  2. Turn on your oven’s broiler to high. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, salt, egg, breadcrumbs and the 2 1/2 tbsp of the Ani™ Spaghetti and Meatballs Spice Pack.

  4. Roll out the meatballs to about 2 oz in weight each (about the size of a golf ball). You should have about 20–25 meatballs when done.

  5. Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and broil them on the top rack in your oven until browned on top. Remove the baking sheet, flip the meatballs, and brown the other side.

  6. While the meatballs are browning, add the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, garlic, water, and remaining Ani™ Spaghetti and Meatballs Spice Pack to the pressure cooker. Stir to combine.

  7. On your stove, start boiling 4 quarts of water and add 1 tbsp of salt.

  8. Once both sides of the meatballs are browned, add the meatballs to the pressure cooker and stir to combine.

  9. Cover the pressure cooker and set the steam release to Sealing. Cook on high pressure for 4 minutes.

  10. When completed, do a quick pressure release and open the pressure cooker.

  11. While the sauce is cooking, make the pasta using the instructions on the box.

  12. When the pasta is done, drain it and add to the pressure cooker. Stir to combine, then serve.


SLOW COOKER RECIPE

  5. Place the meatballs on the sheet pan, and broil them in your oven until browned on top. Flip the meatballs, and brown the other side as well. Remove and set aside.

  6. While the meatballs are browning, add the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, garlic, water, and the remaining Ani™ Spaghetti and Meatballs Spice Pack to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.

  7. Add the browned meatballs to the slow cooker, and gently stir to combine.

  8. Cook the tomato sauce in the slow cooker on high for 1 hour with the lid off. When finished, keep sauce warm.

  9. When the sauce is almost finished cooking, cook the pasta in boiling salted water on your stove.

  10. When the pasta is done, drain thoroughly, and stir together with the meatballs and sauce in the pot, and serve.
